About the role

selectability is currently seeking an enthusiastic facility support worker to join our team in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland at our aged care homes. You will support the delivery of high-quality aged care and residential services through tasks like:

  • cleaning and ensuring facility upkeep
  • garden maintenance
  • assisting with transportation
  • supporting kitchen duties as needed

This position requires a commitment to improving the quality of life for older persons, fostering their independence, and respecting their dignity and cultural backgrounds. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver tailored care services that address the unique needs of older persons in these areas.

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have great interpersonal skills and the ability work as part of a team.

To be successful you must:

  • previous experience in a similar role (highly desirable)
  • previous experience working in remote areas (desirable)
  • flexible to work across a 24/7 roster
  • possess clear and effective communication skills 
  • have an understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • be able to follow policies and procedures at all times 
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals 

Role Requirements

  • a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability or obtain prior to commencement)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • a current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence

The facility support worker is based in the Lower Gulf of Queensland at our Mornington Island aged care home.
