About the role

As a support coordinator you will work closely with recipients to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is your role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans. 

The key responsibilities of a support coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • supporting and empowering recipients to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives
  • coordinating a variety of services for recipients to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community
  • engaging with and managing recipients' key stakeholders (including government agencies, community and clinical service providers and families), you will ensure that the supports and services are leveraged, not duplicated
  • working with recipients to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life

About you

To be successful you must:

•    possess a working knowledge of the NDIS (desirable)
•    excellent communication skills
•    a commitment to best practice
•    experience working in a team environment
•    the ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients
•    the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities & individuals

Role requirements

  • certificate IV in Mental Health (desirable)
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver’s licence  
  • a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
  • a current nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain) 
  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain) 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain) 
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'

The support coordinator position is a casual position based in Cairns.
