About the role

selectability is seeking a dedicated professional to join the team as a support coordinator, covering parental leave. As a support coordinator, you will work closely with participants to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is your role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans. 

The key responsibilities of a support coordinator include, but are not limited to:

• supporting and empowering participants to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives
• coordinating a variety of services for participants to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community
• engage with and managing participants key stakeholders (including government agencies, community and clinical service providers and families), you will ensure that the supports and services are leveraged, not duplicated
• working with participants to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports to live their best life

About you

To be successful you must: 

• possess a working knowledge of the NDIS (desirable)
• a commitment to best practice
• experience working in a team environment
• the ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients
• the ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities & individuals

Role requirements

• certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant qualification (desirable)
• a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver’s licence  
• a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
• current nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain) 
• a Child Safety & Personal History Screening check (ability to obtain) 
• a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain) 
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain) 
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'

The support coordinator is a parental leave coverage position based in Cairns.
