About the role

selectability is currently recruiting for an experienced quality and compliance officer to join team, this is a permanent full-time position based in Townsville.

This role involves assessing care practices, documentation, and service delivery against established standards, identifying areas for improvement, and providing recommendations to enhance quality and compliance. The quality & compliance officer plays a key role in the implementation of quality governance & management across selectability and ensuring alignment with quality indicators and accreditation standards which we operate under.  This role will join a team of quality and compliance officers, to champion quality management systems and processes, educate leaders and employees on quality, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Effective and appropriate communication is crucial in this role, both internally and externally, fostering collaboration and understanding. Building strong relationships with various stakeholders is a core element of the position, ensuring a consistent approach towards quality governance and management within the organisation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • work cross-functionally to develop and implement an integrated quality governance and management framework, as part of selectability’s second-line quality management function
  • oversight accreditation and certification requirements and lead audit readiness plans with the broader quality and compliance team, including routine accreditation standard self-assessments.  This includes maintenance of comprehensive documentation and reporting on conformity, including identifying quality improvement opportunities to embed quality into practice
  • conduct regular quality audits and reviews to monitor quality performance, compliance with internal policy/procedure and quality indicators and standards
  • provide expert advice on quality, compliance and accreditation standards, collaborating with operational teams to embed a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • participate, coordinate or lead change processes in collaboration with senior management
  • providing training and guidance to staff on compliance and quality requirements
  • be responsible for assisting with the development, evaluating and improving policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure organisational consistency, and regulatory compliance

About you

To be successful you must have:

  • demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • understanding of industry quality standards including Human Services Quality Framework, NDIS Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards
  • a passion for quality management governance and systems
  • a high level of attention to detail
  • strong written & verbal communication skills

Role Requirements

  • relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in quality management, governance, risk management, compliance or other related fields
  • proven track record in implementing and managing quality, risk and governance principles and practice standards
  • be highly articulate, possess critical thinking and communication skills, including the ability to analyse, summarise information into a digestible format and effectively present it in high level to individuals and groups
  • proven experience managing complex projects or initiatives that have required consultation with an ability to work to timelines be outcome focused whilst managing multiple task's ability to work to timelines be outcome focused whilst managing multiple tasks
  • travel to selectability sites will be required
  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain) 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain) 
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
