About the role

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families? selectability is seeking a dedicated operations advisor to support the delivery of high-quality child and family care services.

The operations advisor is responsible for providing support and guidance in the intake of children and young people in child and family care services within selectability. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The operations advisor will collaborate with our regional teams to provide support in delivering best practise initiatives. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding the Child Protection Act 1999, Human Services Quality Standards and Child Protection Regulation 2023.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • provide support, advice, and guide in the intake of children and young people to the program.
  • provide support to regions in delivery best practice initiatives.
  • provide support, advice, and guidance to regional teams.
  • maintain high levels of understanding regarding the Child Protection Act, Human Services Quality Standards and Child Protection Regulation.
  • mentor and promote education and learning opportunities for regional teams.
  • travel to regions to support, advise, and analyse regional stance with regarding to quality and practice.
  • assist teams in correspondence with external stakeholders in the delivery of quality care.

About you

To be successful you must: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/Psychology or Behavioural Science qualification and or relevant experience
  • highly developed person-centred communication skills
  • excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • possess a child-centred and strengths-based practice framework and be able to support children and families in a child protection intervention and trauma-informed context
  • be understanding of the requirements of diverse communities, including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQA+ backgrounds
  • a commitment to best practice
  • strong ability to interpret complex information and relay that information to relevant stakeholders in simple terms

You will also need:

  • hope and healing (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • a current open/P1 “C” Class Queensland drivers licence
  • a roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • a positive notice working with children (blue card)
  • a yellow card exemption or NDIS workers screening
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety & You” completion
