About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Program Coordinator that will play a key role in fostering community engagement and inclusion for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and First Nations youth with psychosocial disabilities. Reporting to the chief operating officer, this is a full-time position based in Townsville, with travel between selectability sites required. This role has a strong focus on consultation with co-design of resources that enhance social participation and well-being of the youths in the community.


This is a varied role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, local agencies and government bodies
  • conducting consultations with CALD and first nations communities to gather input and ensure their involvement in the program and resource development
  • organising and facilitating community meetings, workshops, and focus groups to understand the challenges and needs of youth participants
  • gather feedback from consultations to adjust and refine programs to align with community needs
  • developing and implementing a framework for monitoring and evaluating the impact of programs
  • submitting program reports
  • monitoring and reporting on the programs KPI’s
  • ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards
  • representing selectability at local and regional network meetings, forums and events
  • proactively lead and manage a team

About you

To be successful you must: 

  • experience leading teams, programs and services in mental health, disability or community services (desirable)
  • experience in the mental health industry (desirable)
  • experience working in youth support or progams
  • strong computer skills with the ability to complete required reporting 
  • experience working in a team environment
  • proficient in Microsoft office suites of programs, including outlook, word, excel and teams and other databases
  • a positive attitude and is committed to best practice
  • be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals

You will also need:

  • a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence 
  • a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle 
  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
  • occasional out of hours work may be required from time to time
  • travel to selectability sites is required from time to time
